Nautilus6 - Operational Testbed ExperimentThe big goal of Nautilus Project is to realize a mobility world. We think using mobility technology in our real life is good way to feel the technology, to feel the limitation of the technology, to feel difficulty and also to find the way to solve those problems. For this purpose, we set up an operational testbed. It will be used not only to demonstrate the L3 mobility technology, but also to define requirements, to find problems and to provide realistic solutions for them through a real operation of the available and mature mobility technologies. Mobility Service Experiment on ZaurusWe have operated a L3 Mobility Service (restricted access) to WIDE and Nautilus6 members in December 2003. We delivered around 40 IPv6-enabled PDA (Zaurus SL-C760 and SL-C860 by Sharp), specially configured with Mobile IPv6 functionalities, in collaboration with USAGI. With this L3 mobility service, the participants of this experiment could get advantage of location independence. Operational Home Agent ServiceWe have launched a public and operational Home Agent service for personal and experimental use at op-ha.nautilus6.org. We currently have 2 Home Agents, one located at K2, Kawasaki, Japan, and one at ULP, Strasbourg, France. |
