Students who wish to carry out a PhD straddling France and Japan are invited to register with the Franco-Japanese Doctoral College by 15th November 2003. 14 Feb. 2004 for Japaneses.
Officially founded in 2002, the Franco-Japanese Doctoral College aims to increase the mobility of students between France and Japan by using the cooperations that already exist between research laboratories in the two countries.
The PhD students who are registered with the doctoral college are given cultural and linguistic training during the first year of the thesis, then leave for Japan for the second year. During the stay, they receive a fellowship of 1,000 euros per month from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to their thesis funding. However, one must be aware that the doctoral college gathers two consortia of partner universities (one in France, the other one in Japan), and only students of those universities may register.

Les étudiants qui souhaitent effectuer une thèse à cheval entre la France et le Japon sont invités à s'inscrire au Collège doctoral franco-japonais jusqu'au 15 novembre 2003.
Créé officiellement en 2002, le Collège doctoral franco-japonais a pour objectif d'accroître la mobilité des doctorants entre la France et le Japon en s'appuyant sur les collaborations qui existent entre les laboratoires de recherche des deux pays.
Les doctorants inscrits au Collège doctoral reçoivent une formation culturelle et linguistique au cours de leur première année de thèse, puis accomplissent leur deuxième année au Japon. Ils perçoivent pendant ce séjour une bourse du ministère des affaires étrangères de 1.000 euros par mois, en plus de leur financement de thèse (allocation de recherche, Cifre, etc.). Attention toutefois : le Collège doctoral réunit deux consortiums d'universités partenaires (lun en France, l'autre au Japon) et seuls les étudiants des universités signataires peuvent s'inscrire.
